Three Methods for Handling Temperature Rise of Power Compensation Capacitors
During the operation of capacitors, abnormal temperature rise may occur due to various factors. Abnormal temperature rise of power compensation capacitors not only affects the effectiveness of reactive power compensation, but also may lead to capacitor failure and damage. So how to deal with the problem of abnormal temperature rise of power compensation capacitors has become a difficult problem that enterprises must face.
1. Conduct ventilation and heat dissipation
Power capacitors will emit heat during operation and should be properly ventilated for heat dissipation. If there is no ventilation and heat dissipation device in the compensation cabinet or distribution room, it is necessary to equip a ventilation and heat dissipation device to cool and cool the power capacitor.
2. Capacitor out of operation
Dense installation of capacitors, internal faults of capacitors, and long-term overvoltage operation can all cause abnormal temperature rise during operation of power compensation capacitors. When the above problems exist, the power compensation capacitor should be promptly removed from operation to avoid accidents such as capacitor bulging, oil leakage, fire and explosion.
3. Harmonic control
The harmonics generated by the operation of a large number of nonlinear loads can also lead to abnormal temperature rise of power compensation capacitors. If there are harmonics in the power grid, it is necessary to control them. Harmonics in the power grid not only cause abnormal temperature rise of capacitors, but also may cause capacitor failure and damage.
